Course Description
6th Grade science is a general science course that will incorporate the earth, physical, and life sciences. Students will study living systems and their interactions, matter, energy, earth's systems, and astronomy. In addition, students will plan and conduct field laboratory investigations using scientific methods, critical-thinking skills, analytical skills, science problem solving skills, and modern technology. The subject matter will be covered at a regular pace with homework held to a minimum. Throughout the year, students will gain general knowledge that will serve as a foundation to future science courses taken during middle school and high school.

Grading Policies
25% - Journal/Participation
40% - Unit Tests, Quizzes, and Projects
25% - 6 Weeks Test
10% - Daily Assignment/Activities

Late work will be taken up until the third day after it is due. A deduction of 5 points a day will be assessed. On the fourth day, the assignment will be given a zero.

You will be allowed one day per day of absence to make up any missed work. When you return, it is your responsibility to get any work missed, turn it in on time and to ask questions if you are unclear about your assignment.
