Welcome to Tahoka Middle School! I am excited to serve again as your principal for the 2007-2008 school year. We had a great year last year and I know that this one will be even better! As always, my goal is to create a safe and effective campus, where students can achieve their very best and lay a path to their future successes. I truly believe that this takes a partnership between the school, the community, the parent, and the student. When all four components work together, the possibilities are endless!
Now a little about me…
I have lived in Florida, New York, Ohio, and Texas (my favorite has to be Texas). I graduated from Humble High School, outside of Houston, and went to the University of Texas at Austin. Before I could finish, I married my wife Janis and we moved to West Texas to be closer to her parents. Soon, I was able to complete my degree in Psychology at Texas Tech and went on to get my teaching certificate and Master’s Degree in Language Literacy Education.
I began my teaching career in the Lubbock ISD, teaching First Grade at Hodges Elementary. After three years in First Grade, I was “promoted” to Third Grade, where I stayed another three years. It was here that I began working on my Master’s Degree in Education Administration. In 2005, I became the Reading First Coach at Ramirez Charter School. (also in LISD). Along the way, Janis and I had two daughters: Hannah (now 13) and Sophie (5).
In 2006, I finished my coursework and I was hired to be the principal at Tahoka Middle School and have enjoyed every minute!
