"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater. " -Gail Godwin
Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is an extraordinary responsibility. I want to work towards certain ideals in my classroom. Individuality, creativity, and support of a continuous learning environment are important for success in the classroom.

Literacy Philosophy
Many of my educational ideals were shaped by my own experiences as a K-12 student. A strong foundation in literacy was necessary for my pursuits through college. Theater itself is based on an understanding of text. Written text becomes spoken, as action represents the underlying meaning of the words. Theater brings words to life on stage. However, in order for the text to reach that step, a student must be able to interpret the print on a page. Being proficient with the written word is essential. Literacy is a must.
