Math in 1st grade |
In first Grade we have homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Occasionally we will not have homework due to assessments, field trips, special events, etc. Sometimes I will let the students do "ticket" Math or "sticker" Math. What this means is if they do side B of the Math paper, they will get a reward ticket or stickers. |

Math Facts |
We will be learning a lot of math facts this year. It is imperative that you practice these facts with your child at home. They need to learn these facts because they will use them throughout their school years. For example, they need to know that 10+10=20 without having to take the time to add these two numbers together. Everytime a new fact family is introduced, your child will get a set of fact cards for that fact family. They should bring these home for practice.
