This year, Middle School One Act Play is presenting "The Happy Scarecrow," written by I.E. Clark. This story asks the question, "What is happiness?" Challenged by a Witch to prove that there is happiness in the world, a little Fairy awakens a Scarecrow and promises to make him a real man if he can find happiness. Sometimes, answers are found by simple people with humble aims. And what could be more simple than a scarecrow? The Scarecrow's search evokes a little laughter, a little fright, and maybe even a few tears.
